Vila Nova , Portugal

There are many parishes and municipalities that have the name Vila Nova (Portuguese for new town) in Portugal (as well as in Cape Verde and Mozambique). One such Vila Nova is a civil parish in the municipality of Praia da Vitória on the island of Terceira in the Portuguese Azores. On mainland Portugal there are several parishes across different municipalities that begin with the name Vila Nova, including Vila Nova da Barquinha, Vila Nova de Cacela, Vila Nova de Gaia, and Vila Nova de Paiva. Some municipalities/councils also begin with the name Vila Nova.
